The President called the meeting to order at 7:01PM
Approval of March 2008 minutes
The motion was made by Mary to vote via email to approve the March minutes. 2nd by Don Cisneros Vote: Unanimous
* Note that this has since been done and the revised/corrected March minutes have been approved by the Board.
Since the month of May is slated for the Annual Meeting, Don Cisneros made the motion to also approve the April minutes by the Board via email. 2nd by Nancy Vote: Unanimous
Association Mission Statements (Jeanet)
The two Heatherwood HOA Mission Statements were read by the President:
Association Mission Statement: “The mission of Heatherwood of Plano Homeowners’ Association is to act as agents for the greater good of our community by preserving and enhancing property values and the quality of life within the community.”
Board Mission Statement: “It is the mission of the Board of Directors to responsibly make decisions and manage issues in a way that not only preserves, but also adds value, to each homeowner’s real estate investment. Our position is one that supports the maintenance of programs and policies that will make our community the community of choice within our market and price range. We will focus on community attributes such as, but not limited to, the attractive maintenance of common areas and individual properties, and fair and consistent enforcement of the association’s CC&Rs and Bylaws.”
Homeowners Issue/Concerns
A Heatherwood homeowner requested that the Board review her account and the Board discussed options to help the homeowner bring their account current.
Manager Report (Scharlene)
Scharlene was tasked with obtaining legal input regarding the processes that have been in place with Heatherwood over the years to see if any improvements/refinements are suggested.
At the request of the Board, Scharlene provided a brief summary of the annual Meeting process and reviewed the documents that would be sent to the association members
Scharlene presented quotes for the photonia replacements on Coit Road The motion was made by Jeri to accept a quote for the purchase/install of the 3 gallon photonia plants for $2,930.52 2nd by Nancy Vote: Unanimous
As a result of the HOA delinquency letters that were sent last month by the attorney, the property manager received responses from a few homeowners regarding an attempt to rectify their delinquent status. Those who did not respond were turned over to the HOA attorney for further action.
The Property Manager provided the response from the attorney regarding some language in the C,C.&R’s. The attorney deemed that based on the review of the C,C&R’s, the powers stated in the document revert and are assigned to the Board. The Board can then assign committees to address some projects or issues.

Old Business (Jeanet)
The President stated that the magnets and entry way lettering has been completed and should be noted on the Heatherwood web page as completed projects.
The parking signs are pending some review of the city’s enforcement of parking violations.
The President stated that an email vote was received approving the selection of a new sprinkler/lawn maintenance company.
New Business (Jeanet)
The President stated that with all of the recent Board discussions regarding some delinquent homeowner accounts, it is important to keep in mind the sensitivity and confidentiality regarding this information.
With no other HOA business or homeowner discussion, the motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Don Byers 2nd by Nancy Vote: Unanimous
